Mid-Term Study Packs in Qatar: How to Choose One and Use It Well
Mid-term study packs for every grade: what a good pack contains, how to choose one, and how to use its solved copy without spoiling your practice.

As the mid-term exams of the first semester get closer, parents and students look for study packs that summarise what is needed and train the student on the shape of the questions. But not everything printed under that name helps; some are copies of the textbook and some are loose questions with no order. This article explains what makes a study pack genuinely useful and how to use it.
What makes a good study pack?
A useful pack is a map of the curriculum, not a second copy of it. Look for these qualities:
- Ordered by the lessons of the term plan: it shows which lessons the mid-term covers and leaves out the enrichment lessons that are not examined.
- Practice in the style of the exam: multiple choice, true/false and written questions, in the number and form the student will meet on the paper.
- The answers kept apart from the questions: a student copy with space to write, and a solved copy to go back to after trying.
- Textbook references for the answers where possible, so the student knows where to revise after a mistake.
Nova study packs: what is there and how to download
On the study packs page you will find first-semester mid-term revision packs for grades 3 to 11, and for some subjects in grade 12 as well. The subjects include Arabic, maths, science, social studies, English and Islamic education in primary and preparatory, and in secondary physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, general science, computing, information technology and computer science, depending on the student's track. The subjects available differ from grade to grade, and whatever is not published yet is added gradually.
Using it is simple: choose the grade first, then the subject from the list, and download the pack. The question copy is free as a PDF. If you want the model answers, every pack has a solved copy for QAR 10 with the answer to every question.
Packs differ slightly by subject and stage: in primary and preparatory a pack may begin with an illustrated summary of the lessons followed by practice, while in secondary the questions are mostly arranged by the lessons of the plan.
How to use a pack in the last two weeks
- Read the contents page and strike out what you have mastered: do not start at page one if you already know the lesson.
- Try before you look at the solution: the time spent trying is the learning itself, even if you get it wrong.
- Use the solved copy to mark, not to copy: mark your answers in a different colour and flag every mistake.
- Collect your mistakes in a small notebook: a question you got wrong twice deserves a review the day before the exam.
- Finish with the practice test at the end of the pack, if there is one, and do it in the set time.
Mistakes people repeat with study packs
- Collecting packs without solving them: twenty packs saved on a phone mean nothing if none is solved.
- Reading the solution first: it gives a false feeling of understanding, and the truth appears on the exam paper.
- Ignoring the instructions: many marks are lost because the student did not follow the word limit or what the question asked.
Practice tests have a different job
A pack revises the lessons, while a practice test measures how ready you are under conditions close to the real exam. That is why we recommend using both, and we have written a separate article about mid-term practice tests.
Start from your grade and subject
You need no account and no subscription: open the study packs page, choose your grade and subject, and download the free pack. If you want a teacher to revise with you, Nova's revision programs and private lessons are on the programs page.
